When a person already has a partial but then loses an additional tooth, the partial denture (maxillary or mandibular) can sometimes be retrofitted with an additional “tooth” to replace the one newly lost.
This dental procedure code covers the addition of a prosthetic tooth in these situations.
Such repairs are generally undertaken in a laboratory setting. The cost can vary depending on the age of the partial, the material from which it is constructed, and whether or not clasps, hooks and brackets need to be removed, modified or added.
